Instructions for use

There are two ways to access this catalogue raisonné of Auguste Brouet's etched works:

1. by consulting the index using
   • the Search box : this performs a global search of all the records on the site,
   • the Advanced search page : this performs a cross-search of three fields: keyword, title and catalogue number - it is restricted to prints.
2. by performing a multi-criteria analytical search using the Explore tab:
   • the Browse/Prints tab allows you to browse prints by category. The page displays all the prints listed: the search can then be refined recursively according to the numerous criteria that appear in the selection menu on the right-hand side of the page (or displayed by activating the ‘table’ icon on a small screen). These criteria are: original print/reproduction, black and white/colour print, illustration/isolated plate, theme, publisher, date.
   • the Browse/Books section allows you to browse the books illustrated by Brouet (section under construction) and the three print sets he has published.
   • the Browse/Exhibitions tab allows you to visit the three solo exhibitions dedicated to him.
   • La rubrique Browse/Other works provides access to a selection of Brouet's various works related to his prints. These are mainly drawings. There are also works signed Léon Dax, a pseudonym he used between 1897 and 1900.
   • the Browse/Documents allows you to browse a collection of documents relating to his work, his life and his era. In particular, you will find letters, periodical articles, photographs and works by Brouet's contemporaries related to his work.
   • Short biographies of Brouet's contemporaries, artists, collectors, publishers, dealers and critics, can be found in the Browse/Persons-Org. tab.
   • And finally, the Catalogue Boutitie and the Inventaire du Fonds Français (IFF). It should be noted that both catalogs list states, which somewhat complicates the comparison with the prints described as such.
